Reports The Way You Want Them
INFORM’s Reports feature delivers reports designed to support your specific information needs. Using INFORM’s Report Writer, you can customize existing reports to suit your individual needs and save them, so that you can easily and quickly get to just the information you need. In Report Writer, you can also create your own reports by defining the information shown, the way in which the report is sorted and the calculations applied to the data. In addition, you can share your customized reports with your colleagues.

Reports When You Want Them
Using INFORM’s Scheduler feature, you can receive your information at your convenience by having your reports delivered at the time you choose. This could be while you’re conducting other business or before you arrive at the office, so that the information is ready and waiting for you. Scheduler delivers information to either your local network environment or your local printer. As an alternative, you may choose to have INFORM deliver your reports to you via Fax or Email.

Data For Your Own Needs
INFORM allows you to export information to your own desktop, so that you can use it in other software applications. Using INFORM’s export feature, reports can be exported into Adobe PDF, Microsoft Excel, or HTML formats.

Accessibility Across The Board
INFORM gives you access to report data across all the different types of institutional business you do at The Bank of New York Mellon. This allows you to select from a range of business lines, which include: Custody, Clearing, Cash Management, Securities Lending, Stock Transfer, Accounting, International Master Custody, ERISA, Master Trust Accounting, Corporate Trust, Benefits Disbursements, and Mutual Fund Accounting.

INFORM allows you to manage the way in which information is presented to you. Using INFORM’s My Reports feature, you can create folders and fill them with the reports you use on a regular basis. In this way, you can organize your information in a manner that is most logical to you.

Keeping Information On Hand
INFORM allows you to save any report you create in the INFORM Archive at The Bank of New York Mellon. These reports can then be retrieved at any time in the future at your own convenience. This can be particularly useful if you need to capture a set of information from a given point in time. You can access and retrieve reports placed in the INFORM Archive not only by yourself, but also by your colleagues or by The Bank of New York Mellon.

INFORM’s Set Up capabilities allow you to manage the way you organize your Bank accounts. Using the Account Grouping feature, you can easily group accounts under INFORM Parent Accounts in the way that makes the most sense to you.

INFORM gives you the ability to direct how your staff are organized on INFORM. Using INFORM’s Set up feature, you can easily group users on INFORM to match the way your organization is structured internally. You can also assign INFORM functionality to specific individuals, so that team members only need to interact with those INFORM functions that are necessary for their day to day tasks.

Controlling INFORM Access
INFORM gives you the flexibility to control access to the system. As your staff change periodically, you can easily create and delete users at your convenience, so that you determine who has access. For current users, INFORM offers a User Disable/Enable feature, allowing to govern when your users have access to the system by enabling and disabling their log-on. In addition, INFORM allows you to assign individuals in your organization to reset user passwords, thereby allowing your staff to get back on-line faster.

Handling Notifications Online
INFORM enables you to manage corporate action notifications by allowing you to receive and respond to them online using the system’s interactive corporate action feature. In addition, it allows you to monitor any changes that affect your corporate actions during their life-time.

Communicating Trade Instructions
INFORM offers you flexibility in making your trade instructions available for settlement. Using INFORM’s File Import feature, you can program your trade entry systems to generate files of instructions that can easily be imported into INFORM Instruction Capture. Alternatively, you can enter your trade instructions directly into the system through INFORM’s Instruction Capture interface. Instructions to the Bank may cover securities and cash trades, such as repurchase agreements, block trades, book transfers, wires, preadvices, and foreign exchange buys and sells, including third party.

Managing Trade Instructions
INFORM allows you to control the levels of authorization for your trade instructions. For your security, INFORM generally requires that trade instructions created by your staff are authorized by two authorizing parties before being submitted to the Bank. However, INFORM is flexible enough to let you determine the amount or type of authorization you would like, from no authorization at all, to required approval for trade instructions greater than a specified dollar amount. Once submitted, INFORM also allows you to cancel trade instructions.

Database Information At Your Fingertips
INFORM provides quick and easy access to The Bank of New York Mellon’s Broker, Securities, and Banks Databases. These databases enable you to locate the brokers, clearers, securities and counterparties involved in the trade instructions you are sending to the Bank. Using INFORM, you can establish a list of preferred brokers for your organization, thereby eliminating the need to search the entire broker database every time you select a broker or clearer to include on your trade instruction. INFORM also allows you to create a security and add it to the Bank’s security database, in cases where the security you wish to send an instruction about has not yet been set up at the Bank.

Creating Your Own Instruction Templates
INFORM makes it easy for you to handle multiple trade instructions by allowing you to create and store your own individual instruction templates, which can be used as the basis for limitless trade instructions with similar parameters. The system generate a unique reference number for each trade instruction that you create based on your instruction templates, which can be used to track and identify that instruction during its lifetime at the Bank. Shortcuts can also be used when entering instructions, i.e., the character ‘m’ to indicate "000", so that $3,000,000 becomes 3mm. You may also copy a newly created instruction to use as a model for your next one.

Maintaining Your Trade Instructions
INFORM offers the highest level of security, so that your trade instructions are safe at all times. Secure authenticated online instruction entry is assured through the use of a 128-bit Secure Socket Layer protocol for encryption, as well as an RSA Security SecureID® token card for additional authentication. Your trade instructions are also kept current by new releases of INFORM instruction capture software, which are delivered to you directly and securely via the Internet.

Using Trade Instruction Information
INFORM allows you to manage the way your trade instruction information can be viewed. By defining your preferences in INFORM Instruction Capture, you can determine whether you will be presented with only a certain type of instructions, or instructions in either a historical or current view. Trade instructions can be printed at either a detail or a summary level. They can also be exported to and stored in your own systems environment, where they can be accessed without the need to open INFORM Instruction Capture.

Market Intelligence You Need to Know
By accessing INFORM’s Country Profiles, you can obtain the most up-to-date information on market conditions in countries in The Bank of New York Mellon’s subcustodian network. Spanning over 100 countries, the subcustodian network information is updated on a daily basis by our country specialists. Market specific information includes registration processes, market practices, subcustodian profiles and country fact sheets. You can also find out about account opening procedures in different regions. You can drill down through country to market to the underlying information about the specific market you are interested in. INFORM also provides an easy to digest list of changes or new additions to the Country Profile information for your convenience.

Controlling When You Need To Act
Using INFORMCompliance gives you the ability to create your own guidelines and apply them to portfolios and groups of portfolios, putting you in control when monitoring compliance with your investment policy. The system’s automatic email notification feature alerts you when individual securities, user-defined groups of securities, or issuers within a portfolio are in violation of your guidelines, so that you are quickly positioned to take action.

Determining How You Have Been Performing
Using INFORMPerformance, you can access information for all historical periods that have been backloaded. We typically backload portfolio performance data. Generally, we require at least the monthly rate of return and the monthly market values for those segments. The Bank of New York Mellon can generate the cash flows if needed. The historical returns are verified using an internal rate comparison report against the returns supplied to us by the previous custodian or performance vendor. Our relational database can store transaction histories indefinitely. Accounting reports are stored and retrievable for 10 years.

INFORMPerformance enables you to download portfolio analytics, such as rates of return, attributions, allocations, and benchmark comparisons, in spreadsheet format for use in your own internal systems. INFORMPerformance also provides a wide range of graphic capabilities, from growth-of-a-dollar graphs and periodic rates of return, to graphic displays of attribution analysis. Formatting options can be changed, and graphs can be stored, dragged, and copied into spreadsheets, presentations, or word-processing documents.
