In today’s competitive marketplace clients seek to optimize portfolio performance goals. To do so, investors must focus on every step of the investment process and take advantage of opportunities to earn incremental revenue – including Securities Lending.

Through INFORM, The Bank of New York Mellon operates one of the largest bank agent lending programs in the world, offering a full service program, where we provide opportunities to lend both equities and fixed income securities in 23 countries. We work closely with you to develop an individually customized securities lending risk profile. In certain instances, and since many of our institutional clients are sophisticated money managers themselves, we can establish unique collateral re-investment programs whereby clients can mange their own collateral, thereby more actively controlling investment guidelines.

INFORM is the tool our clients use to monitor the program’s performance, track loans and collateral re-investments, and report on clients’ exposure to a variety of risks including interest rate and borrower exposure.

Additionally, via INFORM, we provide clients with a monthly earnings attribution analysis. Clients can effectively assess the risks associated with their re-investment guidelines versus the return created by market demand for their securities.

Ultimately, we understand performance is key, so we chart earnings based on a portfolio’s intrinsic value. We do this by comparing the client’s individual securities lending portfolio to a money market index. INFORM then delivers comprehensive information regarding portfolio performance versus market performance.

INFORM empowers clients to be able to monitor our securities lending programs every step of the way, to ensure compliance and satisfaction, and to truly deliver incremental revenue with very little effort on our clients’ part.
